Solo Leveling – Manwha (Comic)

Review:

Solo Leveling is a Korean comic called A Manwha which is one of the most popular in its own category and has recently finished with 179 chapters. Solo Leveling is a fantasy, action comic that takes place in a world where there is a mysterious phenomenon where gates to other worlds just suddenly appear. In correlation to these gates appearing in the world, some of the human population suddenly was given powers, some were given certain magic abilities while some were given physical enhancements and were called hunters, who enter these gates to fight off any monsters that appear. This comic is revolved around the main protagonist, Sung Jin Woo, who is possibly the weakest hunter on the entire planet, mainly getting injured and being close to death every time he takes a job by entering a gate. Although he is the weakest hunter it is stated that Sung has about the same strength as 100 men, and the only reason that he continues to enter the gates is to get money for his family. After entering what is called a “double gate”, Sung ends up dying but being a hero at the same time. But as this tragic event happened, Sung was being shown a panel that stated “Do you wanna become a player”. This is where Sung’s story begins as being the only hunter that has the ability to level up, becoming the strongest hunter to ever exist, but questions what entity has given him this opportunity. This comic is by far one of the best piece of text that I have ever read, the story and all of the twist that comes along with it and I highly recommend this for everyone if they have an open mind.

(This comic is now being adapted as an anime, as well as a game being developed for it)
